I’m not sure but we don’t have a custom like that.

3. If you had vanity plates on your car, what would they read? If you already have them, what do they say?

We don’t have that kind of system in Japan. You can choose only numbers. If possible, I would like “tekapo”.

自分の車にヴァニティ・プレートをつけられるとしたらどんなのがいい？すでにつけてるのならどんなの？

日本にはこの制度が無いんだよな。もしできれば「てかぽ」かな。

4. Have you received any gifts with messages engraved upon them? What did the inscription say?

Yes, a drawing from my niece. I guess it said “I love you”, but I couldn’t read. She was just two or so.

はい、姪っ子からの絵。たぶん “I love you” だと思うけど読めなかった。まだ二才かそこらだったからな

5. What would you like your epitaph to be?

Well, I don’t want my own grave. I want them to strew my ashes on the sea, so I don’t need my epitaph, right?

墓碑名はどんなのがいい？

う〜ん、自分の墓自体いらない。遺灰を海に撒いてほしい。これだと墓碑名なんかいらないっしょ？
